All my friends are finding new beliefs One is getting married in a month. another is converting his thousands to ones, One founded a startup to evaluate startups. another changing diapers on her baby, Somewhere within a mile, one is planning a trip to find solace in a lover across the ocean, and one across the ocean trying to find one Within glowing screens each night.
Box breathing, Joy journaling Running plans and Potted plants Pave the road for the days to turn. Most spend days managing different forms of madness.
All my friends are finding new beliefs And it's not all different from mine, but Between video calls and coffee shops, Elevator hellos and hallway goodbyes; We are all falling forward. Wearing new identities while moments of naked
joy and grief and life and love
loses their charm unwitnessed
like a roadkill on a freeway.
The title is inspired by a poem of the same title by Christian Wiman
