Smoke

Stop dressing up as he who keeps you captive
For hell is greater and infinitely more compassive
Than the look you gave me
For it burned brighter than the sun itself
If I dared to get any closer
Stop dressing up your heart as cold stone
For I know it would melt the hands you never held me with
You, my anger when you want to be
My fury when you wish
You my greatest judge with no clear vision
For my face and yours blend into each other
Into a work of art, made of substances not clean
And when the smoke of my cigarette paints you grey
When it dims your colors, and infests your space
When the bugs of my desire bite your skin
When my weakened army bows to you
Promise to not fire back for I’m your fate
When the smoke of my burning soul doesn’t let you breathe
When it makes the barrier of your gaze crumble
Keep the barrier of lips strong and standing
For the smoke of me only reaches to remind you
I am the smoke you are, as dust your phoenix is
So let my smoke invade your lungs
Let it steal your life
Let it die, let it rebirth, let it revive
Let it be mythical, eternal in the afterlife
Let my smoke invade you
For me give up the air you breathe
Let these weak lungs of yours die in my arms
For them to breathe into eternal sleep
And only in our next life
Keep them breathing just for me
